Description
XR571’s career began with her first flight on 4th October 1963, entering service with 4 FTS at RAF Valley, and was retired in 1975 after a heavy landing there.
Repainted in Red Arrow colours, she was then put on display as the gate guard at RAF Brampton in July 1976, moving to RAF Kemble in 1979.
From 1976 until their move to Waddington in 2022, XR571 has been with the Reds everywhere they have moved with them. When the team moved to Scampton, she was placed on display within the station ending up as part of the Heritage section in Hangar 2.
